At Kevin K. Yip, Inc., respecting privacy is an important part of our commitment to our clients and employees, which is why we have an established privacy code. Kevin K. Yip, Inc.’s Privacy Code is a statement of principles and guidelines regarding the minimum requirements for the protection of personal information provided by Kevin K. Yip, Inc. to its clients and employees. The objective of our privacy code is to promote responsible and transparent personal information management practices in a manner consistent with the provisions of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada) (PIPEDA).

for which we collect personal information. We also want to make certain we have your consent to continue
to collect, use and disclose your personal information for those purposes.

Why do we need to collect your personal information?
If you are a client of Kevin K. Yip, Inc., Kevin K. Yip, Inc. may have collected some basic information about you. We respect your privacy, which is why we collect personal information only for the following purposes:

We collect, use and disclose personal information for the purpose of preparing clients’ tax and information returns and communicating with Canada Revenue Agency for the clients.  Additionally, we collect and use clients’ personal information to identify clients and their dependents.

When do we disclose personal information?
Various circumstances under which we may need to disclose personal information about our clients include
the following examples:

We will need to disclose clients’ date of birth, mailing addresses, and tax return information when filing clients’ tax returns or when communicating with Canada Revenue Agency.

How do we protect your personal information?
To protect your personal information, Kevin K. Yip, Inc.:

• will not collect, use or disclose your personal information for any purpose other than those identified above, except with your further consent
• will protect your personal information with appropriate security safeguards
• will protect the confidentiality of your personal information when dealing with other organizations
• will strive to keep your personal information as accurate and up to date as is necessary for the purposes identified above
• will honour any request you may make for access to your personal information

What are your choices?
We would like to have your consent to continue to collect, use and disclose your personal information for the purposes identified above. However, you do have choices and can refuse or withdraw your consent as follows:

1. You may refuse to provide your personal information to us.
2. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.

 
However, in either case, this may limit our ability to serve you.
